Architecture 1B relocate to Tileyard North

go back

Wakefield-local bespoke practice, Architecture 1B, moves into new premises at creative industries destination, Tileyard North.

Established in 2012 with an impressive reputation both locally and throughout the UK, the team delivers high-quality architecture and are proud to join the creative community at the previously known Rutland Mills.

A team – led by Director Darren Bailey who boasts over 30 years of experience in the industry – has been based out of Horbury for the past 9 years with a vision to join Tileyard since its conception. A spotlight collaboration within the Tileyard North community also saw Architecture 1B work with our residents over at Forged Spirits to bring The Distillery bar to life.

Their talent – recognised by Tileyard North, Forged Spirits and regional design and conservation awards – is reflected by a portfolio spanning Unity Hall in Wakefield, The Cluntergate Centre in Horbury, 22 Street Lane Nursery, and a contemporary dwelling in Leeds, to name but a few.

Nick Keynes, Co-Founder of Tileyard North welcomed Architecture 1B to the Tileyard family, sharing:

“Tileyard is all about bringing like-minded creatives together and Architecture 1B have already contributed to the community by designing Forged Spirits’ amazing new ‘The Distillery’ Bar at Tileyard North which will bring their brand to life. We look forward to welcoming Darren and his team into the community.”

Bailey commented on the move by addressing:

“Since the announcement that Tileyard would be taking on Rutland Mills to form a creative hub in Wakefield, we knew we need to be there. We are incredibly excited to help shape the community of this vibrant destination”
