Musiio, the first residents to join Tileyard North, have been named in Fast Company’s Top 10 Most Innovative Music Companies of 2022.
Coming in at number four on the list, Musiio’s ground-breaking technology uses artificial intelligence to tag, search, playlist large catalogues of music and measure hit potential – used by the likes of Hipgnosis Songs Fund who feature in the ranking too (6th).
The streaming platform, Soundcloud, which have recently moved their offices to Tileyard London also made the list (7th).
Fast Company stated “these 10 companies are establishing new standards for the music industry”, whether that be the focus on resources for smaller artists or delving into the metaverse, during last year’s notable expansion of the recorded music industry.
Musiio is set to relocate half of their Singapore-based workforce to Tileyard North, supporting the creation of new jobs for the district in their expansion, following a new valuation of $10 million USD.
Upon the announcement, Musiio’s CEO and Co-Founder Hazel Savage said:
“I was so excited when I heard Musiio had been named one of the top 10 innovative music companies by Fast Company. It’s our biggest accolade to date, and to be named alongside so many other fantastic companies really means a lot to myself and the rest of the Musiio team. Musiio is innovating in the Music AI tech space, as well as innovating with more women in tech and with expanding our geographic footprint into previously unexplored regions. Innovation can come from anywhere and live anywhere these days, and Musiio sets out to prove it.”
We can’t wait to welcome the music artificial intelligence company to our world-class hub, in what Hazel describes as “the beginning of a new era for the North”.
